National Craft Month – Spring Cleaning Challenge

March is National Craft Month. The same month of the year when Spring finally rolls around. The snow melts, the grass gets green and the first signs of warm weather allow you to open your windows and do some spring cleaning! But don’t toss out that old pair of boots, throw pillow or tee-shirt just yet- recreate, upcycle, embellish or repurpose it for craftplace.org’s National Craft Month Spring Cleaning Challenge.

The Challenge:
Bring new life to something old. All entries must take something old and use craft products and techniques to turn it into something new.  Need help finding something to repurpose?  Your local Goodwill Store is chock full of new and gently used clothing, shoes and other merchendise that's just waiting for a crafty make-over.  Find a shop near you: http://www.goodwillnynj.org/findgoodwill.aspx

How to Enter:
Create your spring cleaning project. Take a photo and post your project to craftplace.org. Just log in to your account and select the “add craft” link on your profile page to get started. Include “National Craft Month Spring Cleaning Challenge” in your project description.

Entry Deadline:
All projects must be posted to the site by March 31, 2010.

Prize:
Winner will receive an assortment of crafting products and supplies to keep them crafting all year long!

All submissions will be judged by the Craft & Hobby Association Designer Council. This group of expert crafters will evaluate all entries based on originality, use of craft products/tools, crafting techniques and creativity.  Winners will be annouced during the month of April 2010.

*Note: Winner must have a US mailing address. All submitted photos become property of the Craft & Hobby Association with permission to use the images without compensation for promotion.
